This Monday, August 19, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, accompanied the meeting with the red awning and parties of the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) led by President Nicolás Maduro.

During his speech, Cabello referred to the repetitive script of violence promoted by the extreme opposition right, activated again after the elections of last July 28.

  • “The right wing continues to repeat the same script and the right wing script is actively and directly linked to violence; they tried it on the 29th.”
  • “They have been trying to do it with some demonstrations that they have called for and they have not been given the time to generate violence.”
  • They have not been able to achieve their fascist objectives “thanks to the effort and coordinated work, the mobilization of Chavism has been fundamental, it has been overwhelming against the wishes of the right to generate violence, thus confirming that old adage that the streets belong to us and not to them”.
  • “With that violence they are only looking for what they have not been able to achieve either by votes or in the streets, which is for them a point of honor to leave the Bolivarian Revolution.”
  • In Venezuela, “any sign of fascism, neofascism or similar expression of hate must be punished, in an exemplary way, that should have no place in the Venezuelan population, much less in the country's political activity.”

He also emphasized the importance of permanent contact with the grassroots leaders of the revolutionary forces, who were attacked by the fascist extreme right, after election day on July 28.

  • “You have to talk a lot with the grassroots leadership that was mistreated, who was persecuted, who was threatened.”
  • “Today, that grassroots leadership is being lifted, but it requires loving treatment, permanent contact so that the morale of colleagues in the street, in communities, and in UBCH, is always in a combative mode.”

He also reaffirmed the importance of reviewing the work that was done during the electoral process to continue defending the Bolivarian Revolution.

  • “One of the fundamental tasks that we have is to continue to grow, to continue to expand the revolutionary force to make and achieve the irreversibility of our Revolution.”
  • It is necessary to review and review in all states “what each political organization did to continue joining the Bolivarian Revolution”.
  • “We have bad news for fascism and terrorism, the Bolivarian Revolution is getting stronger, more stable, more lasting and with concrete plans to continue moving forward.”

He also highlighted the work being done for the prompt approval of the Law against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions, as well as the Law on the Control, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental Organizations and Non-Profit Social Organizations was recently approved.

  • It may “be rejected by haters, but it will be massively approved by Venezuelans who are willing to walk the path of peace, a true, lasting peace, a peace that has roots.”
  • “The National Consultation was held in all 23 states, plus Caracas; there were 325 people here, in the Protocol Chamber, who were present and 800 connections from the states and we are receiving the proposal in accordance with what was stated in the Constitution.”
  • One of the proposals that has been received is the inclusion of the condemnation of cyberfascism and digital fascism, which were not contemplated at the beginning.
  • “It is important that they be included to begin to give shape to denounce and punish those people who use technologies to achieve hegemony of hate, persecution and murder, because they have ordered the assassination of a number of people in these sectors, in order to frighten the people.”
  • Here is a town that rejected the threats of violence and “feels empowered to move forward”.
