What did Diosdado Cabello say this Monday, February 10, 2025?

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, led the press conference of the political organization this Monday, February 10, in which he highlighted the work being done for the elections of April 27; as well as other issues on the national and international agenda.

With regard to the Congress of the PSUV and the Youth of the PSUV, he highlighted that the revolutionary forces emerged from the plenaries strengthened and are working to carry out the tasks entrusted to them.

• “We are still holding the V Congress of the PSUV and the IV of the JPSUV for different reasons (...) in fact what we saw at that Congress about the attitude, the disposition, the way it developed, is that the PSUV emerges stronger from these plenary meetings”.
• “We are going to comply with the regulations, a profoundly democratic method established in our Red Book, for choosing candidates and candidates, doing analysis, listening to the grassroots, polls, doing everything, so that the fundamental premise is fulfilled that our People, the bases of the party, have their opinion on the matter and it is the decision of the bases that in the end will manifest and prevail”
• “The communal structure of the party and joining the efforts that the Bolivarian Revolution has been making in order to hand over more power to the people. And the issue of sectoral teams, where social movements have their teams for mobilization, not only electoral, but for revolutionary mobilization.”
• The proposal was also made to the Political High Command for the formation of the Historical Bloc and the Five Generations.

As for the elections of April 27, he specified that the red awning is preparing for the consultation on February 22 and 23, with the objective of choosing the best candidates of the Revolution.

• “The congress decided that the 22nd and 23rd will be the consultation and that is not done alone, that we have to work on it, that's why the youth political team and the party's political team are here working.”
• There are strategic points from a political and territorial point of view, and in these cases the Political High Command and the president have been authorized to make the appropriate decisions. “These are the exceptions, for the rest they will be the nominations that our People make.”
• “The People have the opportunity, on April 27, to take a toll on them and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela is committed to that. And we will present the best candidates and the best candidates in all the states of Venezuela and in all the mayors of Venezuela and in all the circuits for the election of deputies.”

He also referred to the opposition on the electoral issue and to the money stolen in complicity with USAID during the so-called Interim Government of Juanito Alimaña (Jun Guaidó); as well as to Operation Gideon and the link with Colombia.

• “Now reality explodes (the opposition). The reality is that elections are coming on April 27, the reality is that the governors are going to be elected, the reality is that the deputies are going to be elected, the reality is that the legislators and state legislators are going to be elected and as soon as we get out of the selection we are waiting for the election of mayors and councilors”.
• “They are bad in opposition, but they are worse in government. You can evaluate the states where they govern, the municipalities where they govern and are a disaster.”
• He denounced the use of money from Colombian drug trafficking to finance Operation Gideon, which sought to invade our country and assassinate the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
• “In Colombia there is no justice. Narcoparamilitarism controls powers and police forces at a large level. This is not new, rather we can say that in recent years with President Petro a great effort has been made but it is impossible. The ramifications of narco-paramilitarism make it very difficult to combat them”
• “USAID was used by the United States government to finance coups in Venezuela through NGOs. But since the US is now going to investigate NGOs, now if they believe our complaint.”
• “The fascist opposition in Venezuela has been stolen, to top it off, more than 32 billion dollars. They're rascals. We have been saying that since when. Now they 're worried back in the United States because they might get an operation they call 'knock knoc' wherever they go.
• “A lot of them are going to end up in detention. Fear is free.”
• “You're being hunted by Juanito Alimaña (...) a padel player and he's jogging in the street and they're recording it”.
• “Wilexis was an opposition agent, who used him as a marker for the guarimbas from 17 to 18 July (2024)” he said and added that “shootings in Petare initiated by El Wilexis linked to the opposition (Carlos) Oscariz, (Henrique) Capriles; linked to Operation Gideon, one of the detainees also says so clearly, and names them in detail”.

In addition, he rejected the attack against Venezuelan migrants through a campaign promoted by the fascist extreme right. At the same time, he questioned the recent statements of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.

• We defend the Venezuelan wherever they are, if someone is dedicated it is the Venezuelan man or woman wherever they are. These campaigns to discredit migrants were led by (Alberto) Ravell, from a communication point of view, but the line was given by the political leaders of the opposition.
• “The least we are going to do is defend criminal groups, the least, here in our minds, is to defend gangs, on the contrary, for days, months and years fighting them, in addition to defeating them in Venezuelan territory.”
• “There is no need to make a difference between the church hierarchy and the opposition, because those who lead the Catholic Church in the country are part of the Venezuelan opposition.”
