What did Diosdado Cabello say today?

• Diosdado Cabello assured that “only the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, the party of our Commander Chávez, can do that”, referring to the fact that more than 4 million 240 thousand 32 members of the red curtain participated in the assemblies in which there were debates and proposals and chose Nicolás Maduro as a candidate for the electoral elections.
• Regarding the candidacy of Nicolás Maduro, Cabello pointed out that, personally, “I have two reasons: the first is that despite all the adversities this gentleman who is here (Maduro) has managed to keep the peace of our country, he has managed to keep the peace doing politics (...) and the second is that you have managed to maintain the unity of the revolutionary forces, also doing politics, politics of height”.
• “Here's your party (...) We do have a candidate, Nicolás is going.”
  
• Cabello mentioned and explained some articles of the PSUV Regulations that complied with Article 67 of the National Constitution, “a democratic method, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela has decided from the ground up, by acclamation and by consensus, that the candidate of the Bolivarian Revolution is Nicolás Maduro.”
  
• “From my heart, I ask this great Plenary of Congress to ratify the decision taken by the street, community and UBCH assemblies” to choose Nicolás Maduro as the presidential candidate of the PSUV.
  
• “We have this Congress as the highest level of decision of the Party, of endorsing the decision taken by our rank and file, because this is established by our Regulations, Article 30 of the Party Regulations,” he said. “The People have collected from the assemblies to keep the peace, to preserve the bases of the Bolivarian Historical Project, as well as Chavism as its political unit of expression, it has not strayed from the project of Commander (Hugo) Chávez; it was very easy to do it, if it had moved away from the original project we would not have the more than 900 sanctions that we have right now, but since we stood firm in the hand of Nicolás, of our President, there is imperialism attacking us,” Cabello said during the V Congress of the PSUV.
  
• He reminded the revolutionary youth that in the Fourth Republic, in Venezuela, university education was not guaranteed, “everything changed with the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution.”

• He also highlighted that another reason why the rank and file supported President Maduro was because of his actions to protect the people in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. “We can also mention the CLAP, the CLAP was not a group of NASA scientists who met one day, no, it was this man who one day in the Assembly said 'God will provide' and they mocked; what they don't know is that when we say that we are going to give birth with soul and spirit to make things happen (...) and it was an idea of President Maduro, the CLAP; and how many barriers were not overcome to bring vaccines here for all Venezuelans and Venezuelans regardless of political color” , he said.
  
• He stressed that another strong reason why Nicolás Maduro is the candidate is that “in the midst of sanctions, blockade and persecution, he has managed to implement a complex and comprehensive program of recovery, growth and economic prosperity, with his own efforts, with his own, native ideas, without help from anyone, only with the soul and spirit of the People who accompanied him in this battle.”
