With the meeting of Burras and Burriquitas, Petare celebrated its 403rd anniversary

The VI National Meeting of Donkeys and Burriquitas of Petare was held this Saturday at the Dr. José de Jesús Arocha Educational Unit, Sucre municipality, where 826 dancers from various states of the country participated.
The Secretary of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Mariam Martínez, explained that this meeting served to celebrate the 403rd anniversary of the founding of the Petare parish, where the cultivators and bearers of this dance filled the main streets of this parish with color and joy.
“As every year, we appreciate in the streets of Petare the participation of boys, girls and young people who were the visible faces of this generation of relief that rises up in the warmth of adult practitioners,” he said.
For her part, Professor María Borges, organizer of the event, described as successful the meeting that allowed the exchange of knowledge and experiences between national delegations.
“It was a very beautiful, colorful and busy day, which was full of music, brotherhood and mixed feelings,” he said.
The meeting was attended by delegations from the states of Aragua, Carabobo, Cojedes, La Guaira, the Capital District and 15 municipalities of Miranda, who received a certificate of participation and recognition for their contributions to the transmission of knowledge about this patrimonial expression.
