The Venezuelan women's volleyball team defeated Peru to win gold at the 2025 Ayacucho-Lima Bolivarian Games, after winning 3 sets by 1 this Sunday, in an exciting match played at the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum in the Peruvian capital.

According to a press release from the Sports Ministry, the Venezuelan sextet dominated the first two sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-18, but the local representation took the third by 25-19.

Despite the Peruvian team's attempt to equalize the commitment, those led by Argentine coach Adrián Fiorenza brought out the caste of South American champions to dominate 29-19 in the fourth set.

“I thank God for this triumph because we have been working for a long time, since they were eight months of preparation and they were really intense. We knew it wouldn't be easy, but we won this medal for Venezuela and even though Peru was a difficult rival, we knew how to get ahead,” said the player Isabela Sibada.

“Despite the number of years that Venezuelan volleyball has been out of competition, it's still strong, it's practiced a lot and obviously there are a lot of talented girls. This was intensely planned, with many months of preparation and it paid off, despite the lack of experience at the international level,” added strategist Fiorenza.

After this victory, the Venezuelan delegation ranked second in the overall medal table with a total of 311 medals distributed in 104 gold, 92 silver and 115 bronze, while Colombia leads with 341 metals (142 gold, 122 silver and 77 bronze) followed by Peru in third place with 262 medals (78 gold, 80 silver and 104 bronze), respectively.
