The Executive Committee of the World Peace Council (CMP) strongly condemned the United States (US) blockade of the Republic of Cuba and the categorization of the island as an alleged state sponsor of terrorism, Prensa Latina said.

The participants expressed their solidarity with Cuba in the face of the effects of the natural phenomena that recently impacted it, the president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), Fernando González, told Prensa Latina.

“The interventions and speeches of the president, general secretary and executive secretary of the CPM, in addition to those of most of the delegates, included expressions of recognition for the island and of support for our people,” González stressed.

The signatories also spoke out strongly against the Israeli genocide in the Palestinian territories, mainly in Gaza, as well as the aggressions of the Tel Aviv Zionist army in southern Lebanon, in Syria and its attacks on Iran, he said.

The president of the ICAP added that the final text includes the most pressing issues in the world today and the rejection of the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for the continuation of the war in Europe and their interest in prolonging that conflict.
