Xi Jinping urges strengthening deterrence and combat capabilities of strategic missile troops

The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, urged the country's strategic missile troops to strengthen their deterrence and combat capabilities and to resolutely fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party and the people.

During an inspection of a brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Rocket Force, the also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and president of the Central Military Commission encouraged officers and soldiers to have good command and make the best use of the weapons in their hands.

In addition, the Chinese president instructed on the tactical and technical performance of the newly introduced weapons and equipment and examined their training in handling weapons.

Since the XVIII National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the brigade has strengthened its training in real combat conditions and has fulfilled a series of important tasks, reports the Xinhua agency.

Xi called for efforts to intensify troop training and improve combat readiness in all areas, and improve combat capabilities, in order to effectively safeguard the country's strategic security and fundamental interests.
