The 21st edition of the Venezuelan International
Book Fair (FILVEN) will take place at the
National Art Gallery and the Youth Square in Caracas from July 3rd to 13th under the slogan
Reading humanizes.
This year, the Arab Republic of Egypt is the guest
country of honor, an unmissable opportunity to learn about its ancient literature and
culture together with more than twenty writers, publishers and officials of that nation.
“Writers and professionals from various
branches of knowledge will talk about ancient Egyptian civilization, Islamic
civilization, modern Egypt, plastic arts, theater and much more,”
said Mohammad Abdelwahab, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Venezuela.
This invitation of honor has been extended on previous
occasions to South Africa, Colombia, to all of Africa as a continent and to
countries such as Vietnam, Mexico, China, Turkey, Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia,
Uruguay, Brazil, Puerto Rico, France and Russia.
In addition, Guayana Esequiba participates as a guest state this year, created by mandate of the Venezuelan people expressed in the consultative referendum held in December 2023 and thus reaffirms Venezuela's sovereignty over this region historically in dispute with Guyana. In addition, this 2025 pays tribute to Judith Valencia, Esteban Emilio Mosonyi, Marc de Civrieux () and Gonzalo Fragui .
