The Socialist Youth of the state of Nueva Esparta
gathered in a powerful anti-imperialist forum to defend
national sovereignty and demand the immediate release of the President of the Republic, Nicolás
Maduro, and the first lady, Cilia Flores, victims of a vile kidnapping
by the government of the United States (USA).
From the historic Fortín La Libertad, in
Juan Griego, with representatives of the 11 municipalities of the island entity, the young people raised a united message of resistance, loyalty
and revolutionary firmness.
Garcia's municipal coordinator, Orlando
Romero, ratified the combative provision. “These young people are ready, they
want our president back and they don't want any more empire here. Just as
Bolívar won, together we are going to win. We showed here that we want
our president back in Venezuela,” he said.
In addition, the regional commissioner for Young
Women, Ayruz Narváez, emphasized that young people today more than ever
raise their voices in rejection of the actions of imperialism and to denounce “that
our president Nicolás Maduro and the deputy Cilia Flores are imprisoned in the United States for a vile kidnapping.”
In this regard, he reaffirmed that young people are still
“fighting to defend our nation. To the Venezuelan people, we say: to
doubt is treason.”
For his part, Johnny Ferrer, a member of
the Neo-Spartan youth, emphasized the active role of the new generations:
“We are committed to taking to the streets to defend our rights. Nicolás's
only 'evil' has been to guarantee social welfare, security
and protection for young people. We will go out as many times as necessary
to defend that president that Chávez left us.”
The rostrum closed with unitary slogans and the certainty that President Maduro will soon return to the country to continue leading the revolutionary process. The young people insisted that the defense of the Homeland is a historic duty of Venezuelan youth.
