In Mérida, the Judiciary began the process of training and updating 1,274 justices of the peace, men and women who will serve in the state's communes and communities, Governor Jehyson Guzmán said.
They “are receiving the necessary doctrine and instructions to exercise their positions within their communal circuits and communes,” Guzmán explained in a report that he shared through his social networks, and which was released by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).
The highest authority in Merdeña accompanied the activity and advised the justices of the peace on the need to promote a climate of fraternity and respect within communities, in the mediation and resolution of neighborhood conflicts, so that the coming years will be “a decade of peace”, a project.
In this regard, he proposed that objectivity, truth and the defense of the interests of the people guide the daily actions of justices of the peace in the more than 200 communal circuits of the state, made up of 86 parishes and 23 municipalities.
The entity's peace officers, more than 1,270 women and men, were elected on December 15, 2024, in a process unprecedented in national history, which vindicates the strategies of order and coexistence outlined in the Constitution of 1999, and which complies with the Organic Law of Justice of Communal Peace.
