179 fatalities and two injuries were recorded in a South Korean plane crash

A total of 179 fatalities and two people injured is the most recent report published by the Yonhap news agency on the consequences of the plane crash of the Jeju Air plane crashed this Sunday at the South Korean airport of Muan (in Seoul).

Rescue authorities, including the National Fire Agency, reported the recovery of 179 bodies at the scene of the accident, as well as the rescue of two cabin crew members, the only survivors, who were found in the back of the plane at the start of the search.

The identities of the deceased are being made by comparing fingerprints, so that 77 of the victims have been recognized, as reported by Yonhap.

On board the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with the Bangkok (Thailand) -Muan route, there were a total of 175 passengers (173 Korean citizens and 2 Thai nationals) and 6 crew members.

Yonhap details that the composition of the travelers was 82 men and 93 women. It also indicates the youngest passenger at 3 years of birth and the oldest at 78 years of age.

It is reported that the youngest passenger is a 3-year-old boy born in 2021, and the oldest is a man born in 1946 who turns 78 this year. Two of the passengers were Thai women between 20 and 40 years old, respectively.
