299 communes of Caracas are ready for the defense of the Homeland

The head of the Security Cabinet of the Government of Caracas, Elvis Martínez Santis, stressed that the 299 communes of the capital city are willing, ready and organized to defend the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela against any foreign aggression, in connection with the special military exercises carried out throughout the national territory this Saturday.

He also stressed that the people have the leadership of political forces, such as the head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández and the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, who are on the front lines of battle and who, by their example, motivate the participation of citizens in these preparatory activities in defense of the Caracas territory.

“Today we saw the territorial logistics arm, which in peacetime is preparing so that in a certain time, if necessary, military operations can be maintained in a coordinated manner with the people, when it comes to defending our territory,” he said.

For his part, the Secretary of Integral Defense of the Government of Caracas, Wilmer Mena, asserted that the Venezuelan people have understood the concept of the threat, which until now has been media and, accordingly, they have internalized the co-responsibility that exists between the people and the militia to defend the national territory.

“It has been a cognitive war that wants to capture the attention of young people, but we have seen young people enlist freely, voluntarily. The people have not been forced to participate, the people saw and felt the threat, arrived and enlisted,” he said.

In addition, both officials emphasized that in terms of security, there are only 1.8% of homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, which represents the joint work between the security forces and the Communal Self-Government, based on the third line of transformation, related to peace, the security of Venezuela.
