With an atmosphere full of music and devotion in Guatire, Miranda state, they celebrated the 34th edition of 100 Flags for San Juan, an activity organized by the Movimiento Pro Parranda de San Juan de Sixto de Guatire, which brought together brotherhoods and parties from the Mirandina entity and Caracas on an emotional journey that started from the Santa Cruz de Pacairigua church until reaching Valle Verde in the municipality of Zamora.

The Secretary of Intangible Heritage, Mariam Martínez, stressed that these expressions of faith project the cultural identity of the Miranda state. “Every song and every flag transmits collective memory. From the Government of Miranda, we accompany and support these spaces because they are pillars for training processes that guarantee the continuity of our intangible heritage,” he said.

Along the way, the traditional encounter between Saint John and Saint Peter took place, a symbolic moment that merges devotion with popular artistic expression.

The organizer of the event, Tibisay Muñoz, highlighted the importance of integrating young people to preserve this valuable custom, which is part of the state's history and heritage.

“The best way to preserve the party and devotion to Saint John is to bring boys and girls closer to training centers, where they learn the touches, songs and spiritual value of this tradition. There, the future of Miranda culture is secured,” Muñoz added.

The day was supported by Governor Elio Serrano, together with the Secretariat for Good Living and Social Protection, and was characterized by extensive community participation. In addition to the parades and songs, the association of cultural centers of formation was promoted, responsible for preparing the new generations of bearers of this tradition.

The event is part of the Mirandina Identity: Heritage Route program, a government initiative that seeks to strengthen social cohesion, the sense of belonging and the intergenerational transmission of cultural values, to ensure the permanence of these traditions over time.
