900 tons of Pacific tuna arrive in the country to strengthen the economy

The industrial fishing vessel Cayo Crasqui arrived in Venezuela with 900 tons of tuna from the Pacific, which will be marketed throughout the country.

The information was provided by the Ministry of the People's Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture, on its account on the social network Instagram, in which it stressed that “this achievement represents a significant step forward for the replacement of the import of this protein, since this raw material will be distributed to the country's processing and canning industries”.

He also announced that he expects more than 3,000 tons of fish protein to arrive in the coming months, “which will make it possible to strengthen the production chain, promote economic diversification and generate jobs.”

During the day, authorities such as the Deputy Minister of Primary Production, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Pedro Guerra, participated, as well as representatives of the public and private sectors.

“This protein comes to the country to strengthen the national canning industry, with a can of 100% Venezuelan tuna,” he said.
