The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), this Friday, April 25, issued a statement rejecting the decision of the Plenary of the National Electoral Council of Ecuador to deny the five claims to count votes, in view of the irregularities that occurred during the second election day, held last Sunday, April 13, 2025.

These complaints were filed by the Citizen Revolution party, which refer to the existence of a significant number of acts with various inconsistencies.

Below is the full text of the statement:

Despite the multiple complaints of irregularities that occurred during the second election day in the sister Republic of Ecuador last Sunday, April 13, 2025, the Plenary of the National Electoral Council of this country denied the five complaints filed by the Citizen Revolution party, which refer to the existence of a significant number of acts with various inconsistencies.

The Executive Secretariat of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) expresses its strong rejection of this act, which closes and blocks one of the doors to the legal complaint process, thereby validating the fraud to which the Ecuadorian people were subjected, under a combination of dubious elements and circumstances that were also exposed by international observers and which are far from transparent elections that respect the popular will.

It also calls on the peoples of Latin America, the Caribbean and the entire world to remain alert to the serious events that occurred during the electoral process, which presume a premeditated and sophisticated electoral fraud unprecedented in Ecuador.

In this regard, the Executive Secretariat of ALBA-TCP urges the authorities of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Electoral Dispute Tribunal (TCE) to carefully and impartially examine the legal claims arising from the unfinished legal process and supports any legal action deemed necessary to find out the truth and respect the decision and feelings of the Ecuadorian people.
