AN swore in representatives of the Citizens' Power

This Thursday, the National Assembly (AN) sworn in Gustavo Vizcaíno as the new Comptroller General of the Republic; while it ratified Tarek William Saab and Alfredo Ruiz, as Attorney General of the Republic and Ombudsman, respectively.

The swearing in of the representatives of the Citizens' Power came after they were selected by the Committee on Nominations of the Citizen Power of the AN, which was chaired by the deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello.

It is important to note that these senior officials were selected after the parliamentary committee evaluated the nomination of more than 128 candidates who proposed their names for the Citizens' Power.

Alfredo José Ruiz Angulo has a degree in education, with a degree in philosophy, a Cum-Laude graduate from the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), postgraduate studies in educational planning, and a human rights activist with more than 40 years of experience. He's a university professor. In 2017, he was appointed Acting Defender by the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).

Gustavo Vizcaíno is a lawyer with a doctorate in Public Security. In 2002, he was the municipal trustee of the city of Caracas. In 2003, he was legal consultant to the Metropolitan Council of Caracas. In 2005, he was coordinator of the Office of the National Assembly (AN). In 2007, he was the office director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2013, he was president of the Sovereign People's Foundation. In 2018, he was general director of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME), and is currently alternate rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

Meanwhile, Tarek William Saab is a lawyer specializing in criminal law and criminal procedure law, a master's degree in human rights, a doctorate in criminal sciences, a rights activist with more than 30 years of experience, a writer and a poet. He was a national constituent, member of the National Assembly 2000-2004, Governor of the state of Anzoátegui, and Ombudsman. In 2017, he was appointed Attorney General by the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).
