Anzoátegui received 48 boats from the Our Rivers Are Navigable rally

Some 48 boats participating in the 51st edition of “Our rivers are navigable” arrived at the Mapire pier, Monagas municipality of the state of Anzoátegui, to begin the longest motorboat trip in rivers in the world.

On their route along the Orinoco River, they made their third stop of the competition, confirming the commercial and tourist importance of the Orinoco-Apure route, said Mayor Luis Silva, who explained that this event managed to mobilize more than 250 tourists in the town.

Silva said that beyond the adrenaline rush of competition, this journey reaffirms the commitment to promote extreme sports, promote tourism and protect nature.

“From our municipal administration, we are firmly committed to supporting river sports in our majestic Orinoco River and to designing tourism with true environmental awareness,” said the municipal president.

For her part, the director of municipal tourism, Yuliana García, highlighted the emotional reception given by the town to the participants, which motivates them to continue betting on tourism development throughout the south of Anzoátegui.

The nautical caravan, which covers about 818.60 miles and is considered to be the longest in the world, is now continuing its journey to Puerto Ordaz, and this Saturday, September 12, is the arrival with the speed stage.
