This Tuesday, through a decree published by the government of Javier Milei, it opened the doors to the deepening of the open skies policy, modifying the Aeronautical Code and reducing the State's capacity to grant routes, air spaces, schedules and even the service of ramps.

The head of the Airline Pilots Association (APLA), Pablo Biró, denounced that “the Government is raffling away absolutely all our sovereignty”.

The leader argued that “this is a total deregulation of the commercial air system” that “does not work anywhere in the world” and that “in the places where it was launched it left countries disconnected at the mercy of speculation, profitability and monopolies”.

The new measure enables the entry of new operators, reduces the requirements for granting air routes, deregulates the ramp service that until now was mostly in the hands of Intercargo, and allows small aircraft to fly from city to city and province to province with fewer requirements and controls.

The Aeronautical Code was also modified, detailed Page 12, in such a way that it allows companies in the sector to “cooperate” with each other and to agree on their operations without the state comptroller, share their flight schedules, routes, resources and reconnection of trips.
