Through the social network Instagram, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, categorically repudiated the grotesque and infamous maneuver of the United States government, through his counterpart from that country, Pam Bondi, against President Nicolás Maduro by announcing the increase to 50 million dollars of an alleged “reward” for his capture.

“This infamy constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, an attack on our sovereignty and a gross interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign State,” he said.

He also questioned the fact that the United States insists on resorting to practices typical of colonial regimes that have been universally rejected for centuries, and uses its judicial apparatus as an instrument of political persecution.

“This action is part of a psychological war and propaganda operation, designed to please extremist factors of the Venezuelan extreme right and generate chaos in the midst of an electoral and political context where they have been defeated in the democratic field,” he said.

He added that trying to link the Venezuelan head of state to criminal structures such as the so-called “Aragua Train” or the Sinaloa cartel is not only an infamous slander, but a desperate attempt to build an artificial file; an analysis that is not serious, just as it lacks technical or legal.

“Faced with this false and malicious narrative, there is an irrefutable truth: the Venezuelan State, under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, and in coordination with the organs of the justice system including the Public Ministry, has promoted a firm, sustained and effective policy against organized crime, drug trafficking and all forms of transnational crime,” he said.

For this reason, he reaffirmed that “our Homeland does not bend. Our dignity is not for sale. And those who seek to destabilize our democratic and republican institutions will find in this Public Ministry a strong, constitutional voice committed to justice, truth and peace.”
