The Mayor's Office of Caracas and the different competent bodies in the capital region have intensified road maintenance efforts to ensure safer and more passable streets, to provide a quick and efficient response to the contingencies generated by the recent rains and strong winds that affected the capital in the last few hours.
This was announced by the Libertador Municipal Services Corporation through its account on the social network Instagram, in which it explained that following the instructions of President Nicolás Maduro and the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, several teams have joined immediately to deal with emergencies, in order to prioritize the safety of citizens.
Municipal teams were mobilized at several key points in the city to solve road and infrastructure damage, including: Traffic lights fell due to strong torrential winds, so the team restored the system's operation; removal of fallen trees on Paseo Los Próceres and cleaning work in a timely manner; and attention to the San Pedro parish, specifically the Las Acacias sector (Central America Avenue), to remove a fallen tree and collect plant waste.
Additionally, teams from the Libertador Municipal Services Corporation carried out work to roll up and remove a fallen tree in the General Cemetery of the South, also affected by rainfall.
