A total of 622 tourists were evacuated by rescue and emergency care authorities from a hotel in the Turkish city of Alanya because of a fire.

The fire started at night in the basement, where the sauna and laundry are located. According to the preliminary version, it was due to faulty electrical wiring. Firefighters and medical personnel came to the scene. All guests were evacuated from the building. According to city authorities, firefighters responded to the fire in a quick and coordinated manner, according to web portals.

Tourists affected by the smoke received medical assistance on site. Three people with asthma were taken to the hospital for testing. All other tourists were accommodated in other hotels.

On April 22, the municipal authorities determined that Asrin Beach Hotel did not have the necessary licenses to receive guests and closed the hotel to remedy the required deficiencies. However, two days later, the hotel owners received a court order to postpone the closure.
