As part of the 21st International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) 2025, the Ayacucho Library extended an invitation to the agenda of presentations and christenings of its most recent editions.
The event with the classics will begin on Friday, July 11 at 4:00 p.m., in the Marc de Civrieux room, with a special commemoration for the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Colombian poet León de Greiff.
On Saturday, July 12, in the Gonzalo Fragui room at 3:00 p.m., there will be a presentation of the volume “Literature and Ideas in Latin America” by Luis Navarrete Orta, by Dr. Marianela Tovar. This copy offers a reconstruction of the imaginaries that Latin American countries have forged. At 4:00 p.m., in the same space, there will be the naming of “The Orinoco Country”, a work by historian and translator Melania Monteverde.
On Sunday, July 13, the closing activities will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Gonzalo Fragui room, with the presentation and editorial news “Novelas”, the most recent issue of the Paralelos collection. This work brings together the titles “The Medallion”, “A Mysterious Crime” and “White or Consequences of Vanity” by the author Lina López de Aramburu, known as Zulima. The activity will include the participation of the publisher Julio Bolívar.
To conclude, at 4:00 p.m., in the Marc de Civrieux room, attendees will be able to enjoy a different reading of the work of Mariano Picón Salas with the book “Dispersed and Forgotten”. This compilation, prepared by Professor Alberto Rodríguez Carucci, brings together the author's stories that reveal different aspects of his intellectual evolution and his role in twentieth-century Venezuelan culture. The presentation and christening will be given by the editor Shirley Fernández.
FILVEN 2025 takes place at the National Art Gallery (GAN), located on Avenida México, between the Bellas Artes and Parque Carabobo stations of the Caracas Metro, in front of the Brion Bridge, until Sunday, July 13.
