Next Monday, May 18, 2026, the banking sector will not provide service throughout the country because of the “Ascension of the Lord”, according to the schedule established by the Superintendency of Banking Sector Institutions (SUDEBAN).

In this regard, operations that require direct attention at the box office or administrative management at physical locations will be suspended.

However, the governing body assured that the technological platform of the national financial system will remain active to guarantee the flow of transactions.

In addition, users will be able to make payments through mobile payment services, electronic transfers, online banking and points of sale. The ATM network and telephone answering systems will be available for basic inquiries and operations.

SUDEBAN urged clients, both natural and legal, to prioritize the use of digital tools to avoid any inconvenience resulting from the closure of offices. This recommendation seeks to optimize the user experience and decongest the system before the next return to normal activities.

In the coming months, the calendar includes other bank days on dates such as Corpus Christi, Saint Peter and Saint Paul, and the day of the Virgin of Coromoto, among other holidays contemplated by current legal regulations.
