The governor of the state of Barinas, Adán Chávez, declared a yellow emergency at the entrance of the José Antonio Páez Highway bridge and on a stretch of La Ribereña Avenue, which were landslides and undermined due to the strong current of the Santo Domingo River, due to the heavy rains this Friday, July 4th.

The announcement was made by the regional president, after having traveled both road arteries, where, in the company of heads of security, prevention and infrastructure agencies, he noted the damage that occurred to the pavement and listened to the concerns raised in this regard by residents of the sectors surrounding the two roads.

“First of all, we have ordered preventive and protective measures for affected parties 24 hours a day, and to carry out an evaluation of the immediate actions to be taken, in an articulated effort between the national government, the regional government, the Mayor's Office of Barinas and the organized popular power, to guarantee the solutions that are needed,” said Chávez in a review published by the Government of Barinas on his account of the social network Instagram.

Chávez issued instructions for officials from state agencies to deploy next to communities to assess the situation of the attacks received at the granular base of these roads and to remain on yellow alert, through actions that could be carried out if the rains persist, including temporarily housing severely affected families.

Officials of the organized revolutionary forces, Civil Protection, Bolivarian National Police (PNB), Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), members of the health system and others, will remain alert in the neighboring sectors of both highways.
