Barloventeños trained in a diploma course on sustainable cocoa system

The National Center for Cocoa Research, Development and Innovation (CENIDIC) taught its fifth Diploma in Trainer Trainer: Sustainable Cocoa Systems, aimed at students from the municipalities of Barlovento, Miranda state.
The activity included the participation of researchers Franklin Morillo, Dercy Parra and José Mathias Hernández.
Parra and Hernández described environmental management techniques for disease control, such as the witch's broom. Morillo gave instructions on how to make traps for insects that affect the cacao tree.
As published by the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT), a protective layer was applied to the crops during the activity.
The workshop aims to strengthen the technical capacity of the agricultural sector, in accordance with the principles of Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán's Great Mission in Science, Technology and Innovation.
