The national secretary general of the Democratic Action (AD)
political party, Bernabé Gutiérrez, described the extreme right-wing María Corina Machado (MCM) as irresponsible for her call
to the
Venezuelan people not to vote in the next elections and to ignore
results “when they are given by the governing body, which is the National Electoral Council.”
In this regard, during his interview on the
program Here and Now on Iguana TV, he specified that the political organization
he represents is not subordinate to the extreme right. “Neither Mrs. María
Machado nor anyone who is against the interests of the people,” he said.
He said that those who still believe themselves to be legislators of the National Assembly since 2015 “are exploited, who subrogate themselves to being deputies with power; they are capricious and irresponsible; they are politically dead,” Venezuelan Television reports.
In addition, he took the opportunity to
express his rejection of representatives of the extreme right for using
the money of the Venezuelan people for their own interests.
“They are scoundrels (...) That's why they live the way they live and they take Venezuela's money for themselves,” he said and noted that this sector “what they want is to deceive the people by telling them not to come and vote, because they are not a decent and sensible opposition.”
