The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, highlighted to members of Fedecamaras and Procolombia the new business and investment opportunities between Venezuela and Colombia.

“It is a pleasure to be with you again, this time to talk about the opportunities of the commercial relationship between Venezuela and Colombia, with the common objective of strengthening bilateral exchange,” said the holder of this portfolio from the Fedecamaras auditorium in Caracas.

The minister noted that the year 2026 has been called by President Nicolás Maduro the year of the Admirable Challenge, and this has been ratified by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, “who summons us with a very clear slogan: to unite for production, sovereign supply and an export that will allow us to continue recovering our economy.”

“We know that this is a shared desire and I have the full certainty that we will continue to move forward, giving decisive and effective impetus to a win-win agenda for the Venezuelan and Colombian economies, for growth, well-being and, above all, for the happiness of two fraternal peoples with the same libertarian history, with the same history of struggle and the same vocation for peace. May the peace that reigns today in Venezuela, social and economic peace, also continue to reign in Colombia so that together we continue to work in union, prosperity and shared development,” he added.

He also highlighted his commitment to creating an environment conducive to productive and commercial growth, with a vision of binational value chains. “Today we have objective conditions to move in that direction,” he said.

He stressed that bilateral trade has been growing. He also stressed that recent data show that Venezuelan exports to Colombia are still concentrated in primary goods.

“We have to face the challenge and open up opportunities to turn Colombia into a natural platform for expanding our non-oil exports with greater added value,” said Godoy, who explained that since the border reopening, trade has recovered steadily, going from 741 million dollars in 2022 to 1,176 million in 2025.

These figures show that bilateral trade maintains a recovery trend. “We see with satisfaction how the business sectors of Colombia and Venezuela are making progress in understanding, strengthening their productive and export capacities, through complementarity, building balances for our shared economic development,” he said.
