Bolivarian Government activated Cumbes Digitales to strengthen Afro-descendant knowledge in Yaracuy

The National Council for the Development of Afro-descendant Communities of Venezuela (CONADECAFRO), together with state representatives from Infocentro, agreed to create Digital Summit, a training space aimed at promoting knowledge related to Afro-descendant heritage in the state of Yaracuy.

The initiative was defined during a meeting at the Mega Robotics Center of the Félix Pifano Infocentro, located in San Felipe, with the participation of FUNDACITE, the Ministry of Ecosocialism, the Municipal Mayor's Office, the Mayor's Office of Veroes and the collective Las Maestras Cimarronas.

Initial actions include training CONADECAFRO workers in the use of digital platforms, especially in communication and networking, to expand the dissemination of cultural practices and the ancestral knowledge of the Afro-descendant movement.

In addition, reforestation campaigns were agreed on the banks of the Yaracuy River in La Hoya and its tributaries, such as Las Peñas de Taria, as part of the Sixth Transformation and in coordination with the Venezuelan Mother Earth Mission, to restore vegetation and protect local ecosystems.

César Chirinos, coordinator of Infocentro, indicated that deadlines will be established to begin the process of digitizing the movement. Yony Oliveros, operator of CONADECAFRO, emphasized the need to acquire skills in design, office automation and experience documentation.

For her part, Merxis Sánchez, spokeswoman for Infocentro, said that Digital Summits will promote the participation of people of African American descent, in line with CONADECAFRO's objectives of reducing inequalities in various areas of national development.
