The sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, reported this Tuesday about the planting of 1,902 plants in the spaces of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), in Miranda, as part of the Great Mother Earth Mission.

Through his Telegram channel, Jiménez pointed out that “this university nursery, registered in the national network of the Tree Mission, will be a living laboratory for the research and training of new generations with an ecosocialist conscience,” and explained that the planting includes a thousand cocoa trees, 500 coffee trees, 302 fruit trees and 80 native species such as Araguaney and Apamate.

“It is the seed of the future we dream of: a country where science, technology and environmental awareness come together to restore the vital balances of our Pachamama,” he said, noting that this action was made possible thanks to an alliance between the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán (UNC), the IVIC, the Ministry for Ecosocialism (MINEC) and the Tree Mission.

He stressed that this initiative not only reaffirms the role of Venezuela in the fight against climate change, but that it is an act of resistance against the predatory model of capitalism, and it also symbolizes the union of knowledge: from biotechnology to Artificial Intelligence, applied with ecocentric ethics.
