The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Arnaldo Sánchez, announced that the consultation of the National Sports Plan 2024-2036 has begun, which will govern the country's sports policies for the next 12 years and will guarantee the incorporation of children, young people and adults in its systematic participation.
The announcement was made from the Hugo Chávez Grand Base of Peace Missions, in Pinto Salinas, in Caracas, accompanied by the High Commissioner of the Movement for Peace and Life, Alexander Vargas; the general director of the National Sports Institute, Juan José Rujano and the Olympic medalist Rubén Limardo.
Sánchez indicated that the idea is to build a real plan. “We don't want to fall for lies, we want a plan that matches the reality of Venezuela and that can lead this country to become a sports powerhouse,” he said.
He also argued that the line is to start with sports mass from the communes, in addition to promoting physical activity in the circle of grandparents and grandmothers and even pregnant women to ensure that the newborn is stimulated from the womb, the Ministry of Sport press reports.
For his part, Vargas assured that this is everyone's job, “not the minister alone, nor the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, it's up to us all to contribute in real time and that we are an important part of this National Sports Plan, so that it can have good results.”
The strategic lines of this consultation are based on the contribution of ideas and opinions from the entire sports union oriented to communal, student, high-performance, labor, prison and indigenous peoples subsystems, to train high-level athletes who represent the country on international stages and position Venezuela as a sports power.
