Bolivarian Government awards winners by category of the 26K Grand Peace Ride in Caracas

The head of the Capital District Government, Nahun Fernández and the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, awarded medals to the athletes who came in the first places of the 26K Grand Round for Peace, which started and ended in Puente Llaguno.

Mayor Meléndez congratulated all the athletes who participated in the Round. “The recreation, culture and sports present in Caracas,” he said.

The first to reach the finish line was an 18-year-old boy, who said he was very happy to participate and win.

He also said that it was a very strong circuit, there was a lot of sun, a lot of breeze, “but I managed to dominate it”.

The second place overall and first in the Master category went to a 58-year-old man, who thanked the Mayor's Office of Caracas and the Capital District Government for organizing the event. “It's very important to continue to promote cycling,” he added.

The third place was occupied by a 36-year-old gentleman, who urged all Caracas residents to participate in this type of event. “The National Government is lending bicycles for people to enjoy,” he said.

The children's category was won by an 11-year-old boy, who also came fourth in the overall standings.

Oriana Morillo won the women's category. In addition, the Mountain category was awarded.
