From her user on the social network Instagram, the mayor of Caracas Carmen Meléndez reported on the inauguration of a situation room for monitoring the collection of solid waste in the capital city.

The official explained that this is a space to take stock of the collection of solid waste and the care of the environment in the country's capital. In addition, from this headquarters, accurate information will be managed to optimize the maintenance and beautification of the capital city.

The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, participated in the day, who also delivered a batch of equipment for waste collection. The holder of the ministerial portfolio delivered containers, bins and supplies for the collection of solid waste as well as for the plan and campaign The New Face of Conscience.

Lorca noted that three years ago 1,200 tons of solid waste were collected every day in Caracas and today the collection has risen to 1,720 tons, reaching 2,000 tons in December.
