The regional director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, María Alejandra Rosales, together with the mayor of the José Félix Ribas municipality, Juan Carlos Sánchez, delivered the certifications to 55 peasant councils in the San José ranch, Zuata parish, Aragua state.

Rosales highlighted that peasant councils perform tasks defined at the Peasant Congress held in July, where the confirmation of these organizations was established as the basis of the Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Union, according to a press release from the Mayor's Office of the José Félix Ribas Municipality.

He noted that the Ribas municipality has one of the largest number of councils in the entity and that the first consultation by municipality is being prepared for the presentation of collective projects, with the support of President Nicolás Maduro, Minister Julio León Heredia, Governor Joana Sánchez and Mayor Sánchez.

The mayor stated that peasants play a historic role in defense and national production. He said that progress is being made in the organization to strengthen the capacity to produce what is consumed and to consume what is produced, highlighting the phase of reorganization promoted by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) together with workers, teachers and students in the process of refounding social organizations.
