In a new effort to strengthen food sovereignty and guarantee access to protein for families in Guárico, the governor of the entity, Donald Donaire, led the planting of 120,000 coporo fry in the “Ingeniero Generoso Campilongo” dam, located in the municipality of Francisco de Miranda.
“We are going to guarantee protein for every Guarican and Venezuelan household,” Donaire said during the event, which was attended by organized fishing communities and regional authorities.
Donaire reaffirmed his commitment to the population in the face of the imperial threats facing the country. “In the face of the attack on our country, we continue to work together with Nicolás Maduro,” he said, stressing the importance of community organization and collaboration to promote local production.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to revitalize aquaculture in the state, which includes the repopulation of the lagoons of the municipality of Ortiz and the strengthening of sustainable practices in the fishing sector.
The Ingeniero Generoso Campilongo dam, inaugurated in 1957, is one of the country's main hydraulic infrastructures and has been crucial for the agricultural development of the Guarique plain.
