The governor of the state of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, reported that almost 1,000 people are in temporary and solidarity shelters, due to the floods registered in the state, as a result of the rains.

He asserted that families are receiving medical and food assistance. “There is a government in the street and a conscious people that are collaborating and that allows these works to be done as best and as quickly as possible,” he said.

He also reiterated that work will continue to be done to extend the passage through the El Burro ramp as long as possible to guarantee access to Puerto Ayacucho and that if the passage is affected it will be as little as possible.

“All states are working as a single government, state, regional and municipal. We are working for our people. We are not going to stand idly by,” he emphasized.
