After the rehabilitation efforts promoted by the Bolivarian Government, the Aquiles Nazoa Library was reinaugurated, located in the Ruiz Pineda sector of Caricuao, in Caracas, with the objective of promoting access to reading and writing, with a particular focus on the physical book.

This project materialized thanks to the Corporation “Together Everything Is Possible”, which was responsible for the recovery of infrastructure and technological equipment. In this regard, the reading space now has new computers and a growing supply of books, donated by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture.

During the event, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, defended the book on paper as “the mother of all creations in the field of writing and publishing”. At the same time, he affirmed that this initiative seeks to make the book regain its place in Venezuelan homes, to train future “Teresas de la Parra” and “Aquiles Nazoa from childhood.

He emphasized that the objective is not only to provide a recovered structure, but that culture is fully expressed in the community, so he invited neighbors to make this space an everyday place.

The Aquiles Nazoa Library is consolidated as a center of social and cultural connection. In addition to its 14,728 books, the institution stands out for unique initiatives, such as an organoponic conuco of medicinal plants and melipona bee panels. With 120 students and 40 staff members, the library is established as a fundamental pillar in the community, which will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
