Bolivarian Government reviews environmental aspects of Special Economic Zones

In order to address territorial and environmental aspects related to Special Economic Zones (SEZ), the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, met with the National Superintendent of the SEZ, Johann Álvarez and with the sole authority of the ZEE La Tortuga, Ali Padrón.
The meeting analyzed the establishment of a continuous working group, dedicated to mapping and evaluating the environmental impact of projects under development and those that will be presented in the future, Lorca reported on his Instagram account.
In addition, the implementation of studies on land use, water and air quality, as well as the monitoring and control of biodiversity in Areas Under Special Management Regime (ABRAE), was considered essential.
It also addressed issues of ensuring the proper disposal of waste and laying the foundations for the structuring of public services, without significantly affecting the environment.
Lorca indicated that the institution he heads has historical data for the preparation of master plans and the activation of an office dedicated to environmental permissions, procedures and procedures, which fall within the competence of the ZEE.
MINEC works to preserve the environment, as well as to preserve the country's natural heritage, which stands out for its enormous beauty.
Venezuela is among the 17 countries with biological megadiversity. The five Special Economic Zones are: Paraguaná, Puerto Cabello, Morón, La Guaira, La Tortuga Island and Margarita Island.
