The Bolivarian Government started applying hot asphalt type 3 for 26 kilometers of ring road 1, from the Delicias Distributor to the toll of the GJ Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, in the state of Zulia.
This route covers several parishes in Maracaibo and the municipality of San Francisco, which will impact, in addition to the drivers who take this important road that leads to the emblematic Bridge over the Lake, about 2 million inhabitants of these two towns and more than 1,700 community councils.
The governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera, led the start of the work from the Delicias Distributor, Chiquinquirá parish in Maracaibo, accompanied by the Secretary of Infrastructure Rafick Souki; the Secretary of Electrical Affairs, Rafael Colmenárez and the councilwoman, Dessire Fernández.
Caldera explained that the works also include the elevations of this road section, the construction of thoroughfares, cleaning of the drainage and demarcation system and the installation of double-sided reflective markers, among others that guarantee passability.
“This work that we are starting is the largest in terms of asphalt that is being carried out in Maracaibo and which includes the connection to the GJ Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, where we are already 75% complete in replacing the tensioning cables of this road infrastructure,” he explained.
He stressed that the execution of the work is being carried out jointly by the National Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Transport and the Government of Zulia with the support of the municipalities of Maracaibo and San Francisco.
He added that this type of intervention in Ring Road 1 takes place in ring roads 2 and 3. All three of which are scheduled to end in December.
