The Bolivarian Government, representing the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, thanks the sister nation of Russia for its constant efforts to denounce and de-escalate the threats of war in the Caribbean Sea that directly target Venezuela, while civilians continue to be victims of bombings against small boats.
This was stated by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, in his account on the social network Telegram, in which he said: “We are especially grateful for the solidarity and constant communication of our Russian peers in the midst of the current situation and we reiterate our call for respect for international law, the right to self-determination and national sovereignty.”
In the publication on its Telegram account, the Russian Federation expresses its deep concern about the dangerous escalation of tensions in the Caribbean region, caused by the increase in the United States military presence near the coast of Venezuela.
In this regard, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations (UN), Dmitri Polianski, said: “We are all deeply concerned about the dangerous escalation in the Caribbean basin. The United States continues to increase its military power along the coast of Venezuela and to launch illegal attacks against 'narco-boats'”.
