The governor of the state of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, signed, together with his peers from the Colombian border departments, Fulberto Guevara, from Vichada, and Arnulfo Rivera from Guainía; a memorandum of understanding with the objective of consolidating a border of peace and reactivating binational exchange.
Through his social networks, the Amazonian governor stressed that one of the priority actions contemplated in the aforementioned agreement is the opening, in the shortest possible time, of the consulates of both nations in their respective jurisdictions.
“This means that very soon we will have the consulates of Venezuela working again in these departments and those of Colombia in our state. It is the first step of great importance for the full re-establishment of relations between sister peoples, in this extensive and dynamic border,” said Rodríguez.
In this regard, he stressed that with the execution of these actions, we are “following the path to consolidating a border of peace, which creates the conditions for binational exchange and the encounter of those of us who share this immense border”.
