This Saturday, the Sectorial Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, in an interview with the Telesur network, spoke about the arrest of Wilber Castañeda, an active military member of the United States Army, and the denial of the Spanish government about his involvement in the destabilizing plan.

Cabello highlighted that two Spaniards were arrested linked to Castañeda, although “Spain is going to come out and say that they have nothing to do with it,” he said, adding that the American citizen was going to be the leader authorized to use mercenaries.

Two Spanish citizens were arrested in Puerto Ayacucho, identified as: José María Basoa Vadovinos and Andrés Martínez Adasme, near that city's airport.

“A person who is linked to the National Intelligence Center (CNI of Spain) was contacted and gave us the full plan... “, he said. “When they were arrested, at first they didn't say anything, they still admit to being part of the Spanish security agency,” he said.

In this regard, Cabello stressed that a few days ago the Spanish Minister of Defense, in an act that had nothing to do with politics, but was the naming of a book, “immediately jumped at us with a number of barbarities”.

“These people have active connections with Mr. Castañeda, with political groups in Venezuela and criminal gangs in the country (...), because, part of the connection that this gentleman was going to have, they were groups of criminals to carry out the operations,” he stressed.

He stressed that President Nicolás Maduro Moros has constantly intended to denounce to the world what is happening in Venezuela. And this time they wanted to carry out an attack with grenades and “information arrived with the new assassination attempt”.

At this point, he recalled that 14 individuals linked to gangs who intended to bring chaos in prisons “with weapons of the highest power” were arrested, and noted that they had an inscription that said that it could only be used by “the United States (US) army and its sale was prohibited”.

The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, stressed that this is only part of the information available to the Venezuelan State “the plan is being dismantled... Spain has to do with that and the United States is leading this operation.”
