This Wednesday, during the broadcast of the Con El Mazo Dando program, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled how Commander Hugo Chávez Frías gave the right value to oil.
“When Commander Chávez came to govern this country in the year 99, how much do you think a barrel of oil cost?” , he questioned the youth.
“Seven and a half dollars, it was cheaper to leave it buried than to take it out, and the Commander arrived and went on a tour around the world with the need for a strong Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC),” he said.
He also stressed that after the visit of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution to OPEC countries, it was possible to revalue and began to increase progressively “imperialists don't like that because they believe that oil and minerals belong to them”
“You know that here in Venezuela, every president who has tried to control oil knocks him down and put a puppet to the first one to do it was to Cipriano Castro and they put Juan Vicente Gómez here and he lasted 27 years in power, but it was for a while,” the general secretary of the PSUV ironized.
