Faced with threats from some deserting soldiers, at the service of North American imperialism and the extreme right, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that the Venezuelan people are determined to be free.

“Very easy to challenge from Miami, from Spain (...) Come here, things are good here. It no longer has a government that supports massacres,” Cabello said during the usual weekly press conference with the red awning.

He stressed that these soldiers “have always been mercenaries and the sad thing is that they are at the service of imperialism. This People will never accept that no one comes here in the name of imperialism to set it up a government, no, they are free, sovereign and independent and they are determined to remain so,” he emphasized.
