State security forces are still investigating the links and ties that exist between the wife of academic Armando Miragaya, arrested for trying to sell information about the country to the United States, and the Venezuelan opposition, said the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
Cabello explained that the scientist, recently arrested for his connection to a conspiracy plan to sell information to the United States about Venezuela's alleged link with terrorist groups, was supported by his spouse, who was responsible for putting him in contact with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and was trying to obtain money for this “information”.
“The scientist is the one who gives academic support to the narrative that Venezuela is a center of terrorist groups in the world, of drug trafficking, of all those who have accused us. This gentleman, after we captured him, is trying to say that what he was doing was normal in the academic world. However, I was telling the world's first enemy that Venezuela is going to launch a hypersonic rocket at him from Paraguaná. Do you think that the world's first enemy knowing that won't retaliate?” , Cabello explained during a press conference held this Tuesday.
In this regard, he pointed out that Miragaya would be used to set up a file and support the speech of the extreme right wing María Corina Machado, in order for Venezuela to be bombed.
