This Monday, September 29, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that a space such as the United Nations (UN) should be vital for world peace, but there are those who insist that this body loses strength.

“To that body, those who should strengthen it do absolutely nothing to strengthen it, but to constantly harm it, it seems that the objective is for it to lose strength, they insist on destroying it (...) that is a space that should be vital for world peace,” he said.

At the same time, he also confirmed that Venezuela is critical of this space because of its inaction and lack of response to world problems.

“The clearest example that can exist at any time in history is the Palestinian people, the massacre that Zionism is carrying out against the Palestinian people; children, women, men, the elderly, are killed with missiles and killed by hunger too, and there is no way for the world to organize itself to act against the genocides that govern the State of Israel,” he said.

He criticized the action taken by the UN in the face of the crimes committed by Israel and the one it has with our country. “I don't know why they settle for a comment, but let something happen in Venezuela, so that you can see the press releases they release and the persecution against Venezuela,” he said.

On the other hand, he reiterated his recognition of President Gustavo Petro's speech to the UN, describing his pronouncement as an action in “defense of the humanity of humanity (...) strangely afterwards they took away his American visa, the country of liberties; you see everything in this world”.

In addition, he also questioned those who use that space to drag themselves into imperialism. “There are others who take advantage of these spaces to crawl either, no one can criticize (Javier) Milei because where he can get a space to crawl he doesn't lie on the ground, which is his nature,” he said and noted that so far the UN General Assembly seems to have a positive balance for the world.
