The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that, following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela is still on track to reach zero percentage of domestic drug trafficking.

During the Congress Drug Use and Juvenile Delinquency: Justice with a Human Face, from the headquarters of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), he asked everyone who has a family member with drug addiction problems to help them get out of that world. “It's very painful for us to know that a young person ends up committing suicide because of drug debt,” he warned.

He stressed that the Venezuelan justice system has changed a lot and for the better. “If someone is caught for drug trafficking, they are arrested and tried, there is no possibility that they will be released,” he said.

He recalled that before in Venezuela there were Judicial Tribes, but that now “that's over”. “The laws here are not proposed by a law firm, here the laws are proposed by the People and are approved in the National Assembly.”

He also congratulated the Supreme Court for the work that its workers are doing to go to the streets to solve problems that people in the same community may have.

“I have seen them more than once getting into neighborhoods treating people, showing their faces; that didn't happen here before, it's a judicial system closer to the people,” he said.
