The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, warned that sectors of the extreme right are planning attacks against the country's electricity and water systems, as part of their destabilizing plans against Venezuela.

“It's not just a drug trafficking operation, it's a conspiracy, terrorism and gang plot, and that's why I insist that they lost their scruples; today they are planning attacks against electrical and water systems in Venezuela, today, at this time,” he said during a press conference.

He stated that the actions of the extreme right are due to the desperation of those sectors. At the same time, he reiterated that “they want to terrorize the people”, recalling that the plans of these politicians were to place bombs and explosives in hospitals and police posts, among others.

“These people have no shame or scruples and I have faith that they will finish separating themselves (the other sectors of the right), because many of those who participated on May 25 come from Zulia and have their ties to corruption and to these groups, hopefully they will disassociate themselves,” he said and reaffirmed that they are the same people who participated in the coup against Commander Hugo Chávez.

He stressed that the reality is that there is an opposition that participates in elections and the country is calm and quiet, despite those who want to disturb the lives of Venezuelans.

“The people feel calm because security officials don't sleep so that Venezuela is in peace, in tranquility (...) here we are all happy with what we do,” he said and called on all sectors that “it's time not to be carried away by those who want to bomb Venezuela.”

He reaffirmed that “we prepare for the defense of our territory, we do not attack anyone, but when it comes to defending the Fatherland, everything goes and we will defend the Fatherland with what we have”.
