Today, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) represents a profoundly moralized institution committed to peace and the well-being of the Venezuelan people, said the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the Graduation Ceremony of 211 Men and Women as Special Tactical Operators.
“We have a moralized FANB, a dignified police force and a people empowered by the Revolution,” said Cabello, while stressing that these new special operators are essential to guarantee citizen security and tranquility. “We need you, because Venezuelans deserve to live in peace and we are responsible for ensuring that,” he added.
During his speech, Cabello congratulated the security forces for their discipline, dedication and commitment. He stressed that the strengthening of these bodies responds to the objective of consolidating a safe society, respectful of human rights and away from any type of abuse.
However, Cabello rejected actions that distort the purpose of police work. In this regard, he condemned the case that occurred in Maturín, where three officials were discharged for assaulting a young man in a public square.
“The young man was lying on a bench and was beaten without justification. That attitude does not represent the Venezuelan police officer, and we are not proud of those,” he said.
He explained that those involved were brought to the order of the authorities, reiterating that in these cases the responsibility is individual while stressing that the uniform cannot be an excuse for abuse, but that the duty of a true official is to approach, ask, attend and never attack.
