Cabello: We have dealt a severe blow to NARCOBAND with the seizure of more than 50 kg of drugs

The sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported this Thursday that thanks to operations by State security agencies, Venezuela has dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking, gangs and conspirators, classified as NARCOBAND, with the confiscation of more than 50 tons of drugs.

“In counternarcotics operations, we have confiscated more than 50 tons of drugs in the year; 52 thousand kg of drugs, in operations that affect the funding of what we call NARCOBAND, drug trafficking, conspiracy and criminal gangs that are associated with the purpose of generating violence in Venezuela,” he said during a press conference.

He pointed out that those sectors of the extreme right allied with drug trafficking and criminal gangs are only trying to impose violence in the country, because they believe that as a result “they are going to generate a 'regime change in our country', to achieve the departure of President Nicolás Maduro; and with the departure of President Maduro, what they call the end of the Revolution.”

He recalled that for months the criminal alliance that consists of drug traffickers, conspirators and criminal gangs of all kinds has been denounced, which has been confirmed by the opposition sectors as a “legion”.

He pointed out that some of the remaining members of the criminal gangs have left Venezuela and others have been protected in countries such as Colombia by former presidents such as Iván Duque, Álvaro Uribe, Andrés Pastrana and Juan Manuel Santos.

“We have reported it and we have talked about the financial ties here and the amount of material we have recovered,” he said.

He took the opportunity to question the international community that “it doesn't like to hear what's happening here in Venezuela or the efforts being made by a people who want to live in peace and against those who, without any scruples, want to subvert order and end the tranquility of Venezuelans.”
