The Mayor's Office of Caracas began with the eviction and relocation of popular merchants in the El Recreo parish, specifically on the boulevard that covers the areas of Plaza Venezuela and Sabana Grande.

The measure responds to the need to reorganize these public spaces, in compliance with requests made by Caracas citizens.

For several months now, working groups have been held between representatives of the mayor's office and informal vendors, who had already been notified of their relocation.

Mayor Carmen Meléndez emphasized that the intention of this action, which began in Francisco Narváez Square in La Hoyada, is not to leave these people unemployed, but to facilitate their return to markets, where they can operate in an orderly and safe manner, according to a press release published by YVKE.

The mayor's office has expressed its commitment to improving the quality of life of citizens, and has therefore taken a series of measures aimed at recovering and revitalizing public spaces, ensuring that all Caracas residents can enjoy a safer and more orderly environment.
